Schilperoortpark

Leiden University is working on a new park in the Boerhaave area: the Schilperoort Park. After completion, the area including the park will be transferred to the municipality of Leiden.

The "Schilperoort Park" project consists of two parts:

  • Improving the above-ground and underground infrastructure on the current Boerhaave terrain.
  • Construction of a park environment on the current car park/building site between the Pathology, Anatomy, Clusius and Hogeschool Leiden buildings.

The park will become part of the public space and is intended for all residents and local staff in the area.

The project began with a tender in summer 2017, after which construction can begin. The implementation time is expected to be 9-12 months.
